Bible Translation Sessions
Dr. Mark Ward, BJU Seminary alumnus and author of Authorized: The Use and Misuse of the King James Bible, will present two enlightening, next-level sessions on Bible translations November 1-2 on BJU’s campus.

November 1 — “Is the Textus Receptus Perfect in Every Jot and Tittle?” — Ward will explain some of the basics of New Testament textual criticism while working to show that “TR-onlyism” unfortunately boils down to the very KJV-onlyism it sincerely seeks to avoid. He will answer questions after the paper presentation.

November 2 — “Authorized: A Humorous Documentary About KJV Words You Don’t Know You Don’t Know” — as a “funny, Bible-nerdy exploration of how hundreds of years of change in the English language affect our ability to understand the KJV today.” He will model how to engage graciously in a debate which often produces anger and division. Following the 45-minute session, Ward will answer questions from the audience.
